Hoover Dam

Spring Break is one of my most favoritest things ever. It's cold and winter has been too long, and a camping trip somewhere warm is just what I need. This year we went back to the Hoover Dam, and it was amazing! Unfortunately, I didn't take very many good pics, but that's okay. 

We spent day one hiking to Arizona Hot Springs and swimming in the Colorado River (which means we put our toes in). It was a great hike, but Emily, Lucas, Mads, and Gabe got tired of hiking slow with the adults and the littler ones, so they went ahead. We hiked out and got to the cars, and they weren't there! We immediately started to worry because it was 85 degrees and we weren't sure how much water they had left and cell coverage was patchy. 

We started driving up and down the highway in the area looking for them, and tried out cell phones. Eventually we contacted them and were able to drive down the highway a mile and pick them up. They had taken a wrong turn and came out in the wrong place. They had run out of water, but it hadn't been too long and we had some in the car so it ended well. So glad nothing more tragic happened!

The next day we drove to Temple Bar Marina, which we were told was amazing and we shouldn't miss it. FY, it's totally lame and you should definitely miss it. Especially if you don't have a boat. But, we made lemonade out of lemons and had fun swimming in the lake and watching Mckay try to catch ducks. 

Gabe also got part of a cactus stuck on his finger. 

That night we walked/rode bikes on the six tunnels trail. It was a beautiful , warm night and the view from the trail was fabulous. 

I really love sleeping under the stars, and every night we had a beautiful view.  All in all, with the lame marina, the lost kids, and the beautiful weather, it was a typical Spring Break, and hopefully next year will be just as good.
