Gabe's birthday is coming up, so on Saturday we held a Birthday Olympics. The boys had a blast competing in the long jump, biathlon (jumping on the trampoline and then shooting root-beer cans with water guns), basketball, discus (Frisbee), and hurdles (popping balloons while running around the yard).
Each of the boys represented a different country, and they proudly displayed their flags on their shirts during competition.
I was especially proud of the Olympic Ring birthday cake, made with gigantic glazed donuts. I will take credit for the idea, but my sister Amy assembled and decorated it beautifully.
In the end they all won medals for their hard work and Olympic Spirit.
